I have wanted to do this for a while. A chance rummage for other parts turned up a burner riser upstand I have had for years. It could be a No. R1038, 4008 or 4009 depending on which period you are looking at. I think its an R1038 as it came with the mangled remains of an older shape burner and looks taller than the 4008/4009 used to mount 4128 and 4138 burners to later 100 stoves when the 4043 Lipstick was being phased out. The R1038s were used on Primus 101 and 105 stoves amongst other to mate the R128 (deep skirt No.1) and R133 (deep skirt removable cap No.5) burners to No.100 style stove risers. In any event I fancied a strong, silent shut-off burner I could take with any of my 100s were I to use them indoors I stripped and cleaned a 4155 Burner, ditto the upstand and assembled with fresh washers and graphite sheet I trialled it with my AD (1939) Primus No.100 to see how it would behave. No problem! (Apart from a leak at the riser and having to change the filthy/crud-bound lead washer ) I missed the "green" phase but captured the "orange" phase Getting less orange..... Thats it, nice and blue Cup of tea anyone? Alec.
