And the bids go up...... Hi All, Don't really know how I want to say, or should say this at all? But.... This site doesn't give valuations for good reason. Some people may be looking for clarification before buying and asking for reviews of a purchase? But to me, unless you own it, have permission of the seller to post pics, or have pics of "found in the wild".... any reproduction of a pic is just a promotion of the auction item which... and will likely cost us all more when the pickers join in. If posting pics of an auction of a for sale item, it should be stated as that and where to find it, otherwise the pics shouldn't be here till auction has run. Mods please delete if my post is unacceptable Barrett
Valid item for a Borde, and I want one. We do give valuations in the Valuations section. I agree about photos from the web. If an auction it should be in Auction Watch section. But, @Garth is not a Subscriber, so he will not know that.
Hi Guys Let's not fall out over this. First of all, the Original Poster has not asked for a valuation, only for some information about the stove. Secondly, I did try to go to site 'a.frayed.knot' but found nothing. Thirdly, there is no evidence that the OP has posted without permission or acknowledgement to to the original images. Fourthly, if anyone has direct evidence of breaking CCS or 'netiquette' rules, then please state clearly.
Hi all Just to clarify what I was trying to say. The OP has every right to seek expert opinion on something they are bidding on, and has done nothing wrong. However as someone who was watching this auction since it was listed with interest I felt that it didn't need the promotion that the OP's post gave it. Maybe just cropping the auction images to remove the site logo? Small market here and the logo is identifiable to all those interested, and what had been a fairly quiet listing got a big veiwing boost. I apologise if I have caused offense, it is just my view that live auctions should not be promoted even if unintentionally. Cheers Barrett
I have this set and thought it was missing a larger pot to capture the smaller pots and mate up with the frying pan lid but I guess this IS complete and how they were made. Anyone know for sure? Jerry @theyellowdog
Live auction items are limited to the Subscribers Auction Watch section. I am not sure, but @shagratork stated he could not find it with the info shown. The best way to contest a post is to use the REPORT button.
We get this now and then. People ask questions or post in the SRG, then it shows up on the bay. Duane
Well im not selling online and never will for that matter and it comes as a shock to me who thought i was dealing with adults here and not a bunch of spoiled kiddies that go all childish when a valid question is asked surprised i have to respond to the nonsense here
@Metropolitantrout The top photo does have two pots. You can see the top rim of the bottom one, just above the wind guard. I have two of these sets. One, like the one above, with two pots. It is for a mid sized borde, as in the photo. I have a smaller set, for a very small borde, but that has the pots and lid missing. The two sets are here https://classiccampstoves.com/attachments/1369972534-photo_3-2-jpg.36386/ I don't know much about them, stove history is not my thing. I just like fire. @Garth it's not a huge issue. Don't worry about it. From my perspective I would have preferred this was shared after the auction closes, but it is not a big deal.
