@Doc Mark That bloke 3rd from the right in your photo of CASG #3 is a doppelgänger of my brother! Cheers Tony
Howdy, @Tony Press , If you mean the bloke with the hat with one side folded up, that's none other than our ol' pal, Flivver!!! Here's another shot of him, from CASG #2. Left to right: Flivver (Mike), Big Jim (James), Doc Mark Mark), Mac (Arch). Is that the guy you mean, Tony? Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
@Doc Mark Yes. @flivver has more than a passing resemblance to my oldest brother - it's probably the extreme moustache and slouch hat in the CASG #3 that does it. Cheers Tony
Tony, The mustache was cropped and the hat retired a while back. Tell your brother he is now an individual again. Mike...
Mid Hills! Yay! But hopefully we'll have better weather than when Bernie Dog came down that one time. Hmm. Easter weekend, eh? Well. I suppose I could skip out Saturday mid day. The main determiner is work schedule. Big project with periodic deadlines during which taking time off is frowned upon. HJ
@Doc Mark Hi Mark, I hope to come on down for the gathering. It would be very nice to meet fellow stovies. Cheers, Norman
Looking forward to maybe warm weather, headed out this afternoon for a second snow camp trip for the winter. What am i thinking? More to come I hope, but really looking forward to warm temps, specially since turning 63. Seems I get colder now. Duane
I looked HJ, just a very short screw and nut where the sparked would go. One of three I think I have, one unfired, one set up for kero. The kero one was on Everest, used by a company shooting a documentary per the mountaineering guy I know here in N CA who gave it to me. I think I sent one to you. Duane
California Stove Gathering. https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/ca-stove-gathering.5155/ Edit: Welcome
I had to cancel a backpacking trip the last weekend in January because of work, and I had to work this past weekend, so I'm feeling really cooped up right now. Really hoping to make it to CASG 10. Not sure if it will work out, but my daughter has that week off from school. I'll bring her along if I can. HJ
I have two stoves fueled already, a couple more in the line up and maybe one or two others. Thinking over which lanterns to bring, warming up here in the north, almost 70 on Sunday. Need to call some folks in Bishop to see if their CG will be open or if I can spend a night there on the way south. Looks like at least 10 hour drive to the desert. Duane
Oh, so you are coming for sure? Excellent! I expect to see a 111 with hot rod flames on it. And perhaps a white pump XGK? My boss, er, wife* I mean, has given me a "hall pass", so I should be able to attend. I'll probably bail out some time on Saturday since I believe that Sunday is Easter, and, as much as I love stovies, I suppose I ought to put in an appearance at the traditional family gathering (wouldn't miss it for the world, actually). HJ *Beware of a man who says he "wears the pants in the family." He'll lie about other things too...
I wasn't gonna bring that one, but I can make room. Prototype white pump is all. Can't decide on the Coleman lanterns. The 220K kero conversion runs nice. Duane
I'll have to bail on Friday afternoon. Too much stuff going on, and both daughters coming out for Easter. I still plan to arrive on Wednesday. ....Arch
