Hard to see in the pics but it is burning on simmer. I couldn't find the aluminum paint locally so I used high heat black and "brass" for the bottle holder and fuel supply tube. Not the correct colors but i like the way it turned out. All I need now is to figure out what to do with it. I only took this on to save it from becoming a planter.

Ralph that is a wonderful fettle and restoration.
I remember the stove as it was originally here.

Have you found an approximate date for the stove?

My best guess is 1920-1940. I haven't found much online except the American Stove Company was bought by one of the big guys around 1946.

    Great job! Well done!

As far as what to do with it, for me saving it from becoming a planter (and fatal decline) is reward enough. Light it up from time to time for friends - great conversation piece. Yes, cook something on it as it was intended.

I have friends who are not "stovies" who enjoy seeing old stoves still doing their thing.
