I have a Scorpion Spider stove with clip on legs that I got many years ago at an outdoor store in Elko, NV. I have nearly used up the last fuel canister, and it is supposed to be supplied by Liberty Mountain in Utah, but they say they don't carry it anymore, and have no adapter.

I was wondering what other brands of butane have the same thread? I'm sure I need to order on line, as visiting outdoor stores has yielded nothing. I was relieved to see someone had a similar unit that was connected to some canisters on this site, and if it is the same he called it 'lindal', though I'm only guessing it is the same.

A picture of the canister is attached.

If this is not available, how does one make an adapter?

Thanks very much for any replies.

Hello relentlesscactus, the connector for your spider is a lindal connector if I am not mistaken and you can use the modern canisters like MSR, OPTIMUS, and the likes. One way is to bring your stove to the sporting goods shop that sells canisters and see if it will screw on.

Yes, Hiking Jim bought some and I believe I saw some of those too at a sporting goods shop close to Jim's place.

Alternatively, the link posted is my post actually where you can use the Asian butane canister to use as an alternative. Am not familiar with the spider but if it does have a hose to connect to the canister, you certainly can use that adaptor.

Yes, I own one the Scorpion II and III and they fit the modern canisters.

    Hope this helps.

I traded some Gaz 106 ctgs for a couple of the Scorpion cans, as I needed the thinner cans.
The modern ones were too fat for my coffee pot.
