    Hello,
    The small tube in the picture came with a Radius font. Could someone tell what it is? Where to mount it? Is there an English word for it?
    Thank you!

    Igniter. Big end in the prime cup, other end near the jet. Held by the clip.

    Should the igniter be completely hollow, I mean empty, or is a kind of wick required?
    Thanks again!

    @fjildman
    There should be some wick in the fatter end be careful if it’s original it could be asbestos. So take care of you remove it.

    @fjildman originally the base and sometimes part of the tube was packed with asbestos. Replacement is tricky as woven fibreglass rope doesn't allow sufficient capillary action. I've had mixed success with looser strands of glass fibre.

    They make any stove easier to light, saving the need for a second match if the flame does not catch before the priming flame burns out. And in the case of silent burners, they are even more useful as they light the burner from above once the flame below has burned out. Primus included them as standard on many models from the late 1920s(?) and certainly the 1930s. Some other manufacturers supplied them too.
