Pump bucket nut removal trick

    For those frozen on pump bucket end nuts that are on all the brassies and the old 111 etc, I use a couple thick rubber bands wrapped around the shaft of the pump very tightly.

    This allows you to grip the pump with pliers or vice grips without damaging the metal. The metal is held in place by the rubber bands traction.

    Works great for me. I hope this helps and has't been covered in another post.

    Good on ya mate for protecting your shaft with good quality rubber. :thumbup:

    I use old truck tire inner tubes for the same purpose. Usually can get 'em free for the asking at the local tire shop. Or, there's always dumpster diving after they close I suppose..... 8-[ :whistle:

    I guess you can do similar with leather wrapped around the shaft? Baah
