Thanks for your kind remarks. It's a fun little stove with a very interesting design. I'm still "digesting" my acquisition. I'll be very interested in people's observations regarding the stove at CASG3.



I'm a little sleepy right now from staying up late to take and then post photos as well as read the instructions, but even sleepy, I'm pretty excited about the stove.

Speaking of instructions, I found the supplemental instructions very interesting. It appears that the supplemental instructions were written by the army not MSR. The supplemental instructions seem to have been written by a person or persons with practical working knowledge of the stove. The supplemental instructions list things to watch out for and include a photo of a stove damaged by excessive heat feedback.

An interesting stove. Looks to be a real roarer from that flame shot. I don't know if the Svea 123 pot would handle it.

Hi, Sam, yes it is quite petite. MSR has a pretty good design in terms of packing. The pot support assembly pops off and then snaps upside down over the body of the stove for storage.

HJ, its soooooo....small. Wish you could put it side by side with a 123 so we can see the sized difference. Congratulations again on your rare acquisition and hope to see it first hand on CA3

Just to help clarify PEO means Program Executive Office, might not even be in use anymore, but it was one of the redesignations used by the military.

I vaguely remember following this at the time, and it does seem to have been a viable stove. Without gov funding the CFV principle seems to have died a death.

 

I found one for 'relative' pennies.
The prices on ebay have been crazy.
