Hi all I wonder if any one can tell me if Primus No 100 would date back to 1927. There is one on ebay at present with the date code R11 which going by the dating chart would appear to be correct, I can't post a link in the Auction Watch as my permission won't allow me to, but it ends on Monday 6th Aug 2012. If anyone cares to have a look at the stove I would appreciate any comments, advice etc, as the tank thread looks to be a bit knackerd, and I have contacted the seller to try and find out if this is the case or if it is just the way the picture was taken. Greetings, First off, I would strongly recommend that you spend a little time in our Reference sections here at CCS. The answer to your questions can be found within the Catalogs and Parts area. Check out the 1927-1930 Primus catalog and I believe you will find what you seek! I'd post the link, but it's probably best of you look for yourself, as there is SO much more outstanding info to be found, and you may well find tons more interesting stuff if you spend a little time doing some research. My reply to Gary had nothing to do with "slagging off", as I believe that CCS is a wonderful reference site, and a repository of an unbelievable amount of great information. However, if someone never learns how to find it, what service are we offering to just spoon-feed them the information they seek? IMHO, to just give Gary the answer you requested is short-changing him in the extreme, especially when it's so very easy to find tons of great info after someone shows you how to do it. Back when I joined up, our reference sections were not near as full they are today, yet I was led to them, over and over again, by the CCS Old Timers back then. I think where was much wisdom in what they did, and choose to work in the same way. Gary, I think you're referring to ebay item # 200800304309. I spotted that one, too. The threads look OK to me. The stove seems to be in rather fine shape for its age. It has the desirable silent damper for the burner, but it's missing the burner plate (for roarer operation) and the reserve lid, which would park on the filler cap during use. The stove is functional without these parts and replacements are available. But, most importantly, it's also missing the vaporizing tube. The stove won't function without it. In the photos, the seller has balanced the burner bell directly on the tank. The bell has no threads, and may be the source of your concern. The vaporizing tube is available from our sponsor, Basecamp, but at a cost of £22.00. Be sure to consider this when placing your bid.
Heres a little tip for anyone, if you are ever missing the outer burner cap and plate off a Pri 100- buy a Primus 2051 they can be bought cheaply off Ebay usually, the burner cap and plate are virtually identical to the Primus 100 - all you have got to do is to take the central tube out of the 2051 cap.The cap and plate on the left is off a Pri 100.
Any idea if this would work on the Primus No. 1? I bought it without the inner or outer cap. I am not sure how to post a link, but I have a photo in the reference gallery. Thanks, Bryan

Ian, I sent S & H an email last week, but they haven't responded. I was under the impression I needed an inner and outer cap for my stove. Is this a correct assumption? Cheers, Bryan
