I’m one of those unfortunates who doesn’t own one of the fabled MSR Espresso Stars Thanks to another member’s post about a simmer plate made by Ilsa…I discovered that they also make a stove ring adapter - Ilsa Burnished Steel Adapter It’s stamped carbon steel and weighs in at 3.25oz/91g. I’m going to file some shallow notches in the rim to index and center the adapter on my Whisperlite and Rapidfire. On a Dragonfly... It even works with a Trangia 28...
I have an Indian copy that came as a bundle with a three and a six cup moka pot from Amazon. It also works in a Trangia 27 as I found to my surprise. Regards John

G,,day . I had the thought that the clip on mesh pot support for an optimus 99 could very well work here as well. right size mesh and correct placement of nuts and bolts.. cheers kerry
I will be very interested to see how well the carbon steel stamped plates hold up. If they consistently get red hot, they will oxidize and soften to the point of sagging. The trivets in the tripod stoves do not seem to get red hot since the burner is centered under a large opening. I bought some 1/2" stainless mesh and cut it to fit between the pot supports on an 8R and a 111T. Being stainless, it does not oxidize as quickly when very hot.
I use an old 180mm stainless steel brake disc/rotor from my mountain bike in my Trangia 25s Here it is with my 2 cup (or in my case one big mug) Bialetti Mukka Express cappuccino maker. I don't need a seperate support when I use it with my Trangia 27s.
