Just bough Juwel 1 (no letters after number) for spare parts(= burner, NRV & other parts with correct thread on them) or for some "projects" since I mainly am interested about Optimus stoves. Price was quite reasonable 5 eur. Burner is not original, stove has Primus roarer burner. There is not too many of them in reference gallery so maybe that stove is not as common and other similar type stoves. Bottom of the tank has some stamp that I cannot see clearly. Did Barthel ever stamped date codes to the stoves? Does anyone has some idea when Juwel 1 was made. I try to get some pictures from that stamp on bottom of the stove. To get enough enlargement I need to setup bellows system to the camera, so photos need some preparation to get.
Hi, Your Juwel No.1 stove is likely much rarer than any Optimus equivalent. Why not strip an old Optimus and get the Juwel operating? Barthel didn't date code their stoves. My Juwel 1 is the roarer version, the 1K, and dates from the 1930s I believe.: https://classiccampstoves.com/posts/71502 https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/149 My Juwel burner has Russian Cyrillic script in the "old" orthography. The script was modified after the 1918 Soviet Revolution, although the Swedish manufacturers continued to use the old script into the late 1930s. Perhaps Barthel (Juwel) did the same. Thank's Kerophile! I'll get the pictures... In my stove letters are stamped not up from the surface. Legs are not circular like your they are more like early Optimus stoves had. So maybe it's WWII era or later.. I think that my Juwel just needs NRV pip and some oil to pump's cup and it's ready to go. I just have made a decision to stick to one brand in order to save some money and space. BUT if I get/find interesting stove from other brands I'll might get/keep it.
