    Yes, You can
    - but why on earth would you want to go to a much more unsafe fuel compared to kerosene!?!
In the German (Dutch) Army stove you don't need to use alcohol for preheating due to the built-in rapid pre-heater so no need to have alcohol handy. And, as you probably know, alcohol and gasoline can both burn above a puddle of spilled fuel (or worse - inside a fuel container!) which kerosene cannot do. It needs a wick or a pressurised spray to burn.
And the colder it is the easier alcohol and gasoline will ignite above the puddle...

The Heinze Geniol should not be run on gasoline (Coleman fuel/white gas etc). It might fire up and look good - but it is inherently unsafe.

It is designed to run on kerosene and good quality diesel. I run my two on kero. The biggest dirty fuel clean-up job I’ve done has been a Heinze Geniol that was clogged with diesel...

    Cheers

I would not recommend it. It runs so well on kerosene.
And with the price of CF in Canada why would you want to?
