Old-School Camping Film from 1930

I think you will enjoy thisone, it was made in 1930 and shows the Swedish Campingclub,
about halfway in there is a nice 2 burner.

Yes I did enjoy that, very much. I viewed it on the TV and saw it at its best. The sound track was charming too. Thank you.

The stove is an Optimus Campingo 2 like @Metropolitantrout ’s but Jerry will for sure prime his properly, unlike the fellow in the film, who seems to be doing without alcohol to prime with.

Great film! Where are the standing stones? My wife and I have driven all around England and France to find the stone circles - Castlerigg, the Merry Maidens, etc. Didn't know there were any in Sweden.

The cars have M in the registration numbers which indicates Malmö.
There is a very strong chance that the stones is Ale Stenar in the far south of Skåne and Sweden where Malmö is the largest city.

Ah, yes! Ale Stenar! I had just googled "sweden standing stones" and that was the first popup. I guess BW and I will have to travel to Sweden to see this!

Really enjoyed it. Fun to see him torch the stove to prime the burner. No inside the tent action there! Deffinately not an alcohol primer. I also enjoyed spotting some of the gear;folding handle frying pan, folding lantern, cots, air mattress and the tents. I have a lot of “early” gear besides stoves and it was nice to see theirs. Thanks for the post.

A rather delightful film and the score was very apt.

 

... 'missing' only one "o" which could be substituted for one of the "l"'s, if 'school' is the word required.

(I do not possess a second language, so what you had is better than I can do in reverse!)
