ive been given one,way beyond repairing but have re kitted its lid as an 8r,22,111 spare. the question is, the spindle,pricker,jet. are they the same as the 111b or 8r?if so ill keep them as spares before throwing the rest out
@Garth Hi! I'd be hesitant to call anything beyond repair if it hasn't been shredded to dust! Do post a picture before you throw anything out, there might be a member needing parts! As to compatibility with 111B and 8r, someone will chime in.... I do believe most parts on the 8r is the same but belife and fact is not always the same :-) /Lars
When using the word beyond repair remember some here could almost fix a stove run over by a tank. Some others can umelt stoves
Thats all there is and I dont wish to find the missing parts but the chain will complete my 111 a spare fuel cap will be handy id not consider wrecking it but for the fact you can still buy them new Its been lying under the car seat 6 months now and still ive not developed the urge to fix it
I have 3 optimii,4x primii, a unimet and a zip rebuilding that lot cost a pretty penny and all were runners when I got them Thats a lot of nrv's, pump washers jets etc
Is the burner bell bent, or the valve, or is that distortion from the camera? If the valve assembly isn't bent, then it doesn't look bad. Fixable. ....Arch
The bell is bent mainly theres a slight bend in the tank but as its incomplete im not keen on getting all the parts to make it work A top plate will set me back $30. 00 for starters I dont even want to know what a windshield/ pot support is worth likewise a key
@Garth, since we're here in God's Own can I have a criac at it before you part it out? Worst that can happen is I'd return the parts at the end?
My user looks like that and its not rocket science to make a flame spreader. Ive got a 71 here I need to right up here even if only fore the previous owners home made flame spreader. A square of flat sheet metal with a tab spot welded on each corner. A functions near identically to my other 71
I dropped my 123 on our honeymoon and bent the bell pretty badly. Straightened it with a pair of pliers (it was that or cold dinner). Wasn't pretty, but it works fine. ....Arch
Hi @snwcmpr Sorry, should have been a little more explicit, should have said looking for a user. Picked up one of the last ones NIB from Base Camp when they still had them. Even a banged up one you can stick in a modified paint can or something with a support on top. 8r's are rare enough on this side of the pond, happening across a 123 of any flavour would be luck indeed.
In a true demonstration of generosity and proof of being an all round excellent dude, @Garth reached out and offered the 123 to a less fortunate newbie with a passion for things banged up to play around with ....
