I was disappointed at the esthetics of this stove when I received it so I decided to "beautify" it a bit. The paint was a disaster so I stripped everything, soaked it in warm citric acid and repainted with VHT brake caliper aluminum paint (450degC/900degF). A 20ga steel wire was inserted into the fuel line, approx. 10cm.to improve performance. A small washer was needed to align the jet to the burner inlet as it was noticeably crooked.Repacked the valve gland with graphite cord. Copied the Company logo and made a decal. Now it looks presentable and works very well.
You’re too modest, you transformed it and my compliments on improving not just the looks but its functionality too. It deserves the attention and clearly responds well to the TLC. Bravo. John
A bundle of thin copper wires (electric wire) would be better IMO. They are more flexible and have better thermal conductivity. Exactly! Now this is a completely different stove than before. Regarding the design - I never understood why the preheating cap is placed under the jet. Is it enough for effective priming? Or you use the top of flame spreader?
