These came in a box of Coleman lantern and stove parts. They are NOS. I do not recognise them. Any help will be greatly appreciated. For size comparison, I placed a No. 5 silent cap next to them. Thank you in advance. Tony
Hi Tony, This outer cap and screen mesh may be for a Tilley CS56 stove, but I may be wrong. Cheers, Norman
@Tony Press Yes Tony, as Norman’s suggested, they’re Tilley CS56 components. More mesh goes inside the cap to prevent flashback/underburning. John

The Tilley cap hasn’t got the usual inner cap (see the photos below), so mesh inserted in a conventional silent burner cap(s) arrangement would have to go in the narrow space between the two, which I expect would disrupt the gas flow and offer no gain - given that underburn doesn’t happen in a majority of cases and is usually rectified by other means such as replacement caps or cleaning of their interior surfaces. Many gassie caps (certainly Campingaz ones) have internal mesh. They too don’t have an inner cap arrangement. I’ll dig the Tilley out. It’s overdue a firing. The dimensions of the mesh though are: length mathematical pi times cap inner diameter; width is the height of the inner wall of the cap. Mesh gauge ‘medium’ (not ‘fine’). I doubt the gauge is critical. John
