i rescued this poor old thing it is likely an earlier one home made pot stands squarish handle which i havent encountered before and a spares kit including the wiper cloth which doesnt seem to fit with the neglected nature of the stove
Hi @Garth you should have taken a few more photos! Your Op.111 is a survivor and could be one of the early models, from the early 1950s. Around the same period as this example: optimus 111 - mid fifties And a bit earlier than this one: Optimus 111 from 1950s If you read through the texts of these posts you should be able to identify the features that help indicate a date for these early Op.111 stoves. I installed the proper pot stands and a better burner bell and fired it up apart from the expected leaking nrv it can't be faulted perfect blue flame, it's got me motivated to improve it's sorry looks. My 111b looks a bit depleted now but why rebuild a one fuel stove when it's claimed a regular 111 can burn kero and white fuel B has a nice tank but--- it's a bit different cosmetically to the tank on the old one in the end seam area
Hard to explain but pics show it better all these are embossed case stoves 111,111/7,111 b,first the petrol burners tank,then /7 tank/and the old girl first tank a very different design
this was most unexpected apart from a prv leak solved by borrowing from another stove it works better than any others i own,now the decision is how far to go with rebuilding it as i cant see my intervention improving how it actually works
