Latest arrival is this Cobra picnic stove, basically a copy of early Primus 96 models. It came with a rather battered tin, a wind shield and a spanner that fitted no part of the stove?? I've included a picture of it next to my 1919 Primus 96 for comparison.

Nice looking stove and you have it burning beautifully. I see you have it listed as being from Great Britain. There are also several "Cobra" stoves posted as French in the reference gallery. Like this one. Makes me wonder if "Cobra" stoves were manufactured in both countries. Ben
British made is stamped on the tank - although it was sourced from Holland so you had me wondering there.
Manufacturer was Samuel Heath & Sons. A Thermidor 1/2 pint is a near-identical stablemate, but usually in a red-painted box. At least one example though is a Cobra in a Thermidor-branded box of the Cobra turquoise colour. The phenomenon of a manufacturer putting out essentially the same product under different brands was called ‘badge engineering’ in an automobile industry context.
