I've just purchased a brand new unused in the box Shinabro Royal 400c I was fully aware it was missing its regulating spindle and now on on the search for one, either new, used, another similar stove or details of a stockist that may have one
Any help and assistance will be gratefully received

@glassmanallan Nigh impossible to get a spare unless salvaged from an example in worse state.

I compared HERE the Shinabro with an Optimus 111 for which spares are readily available.

I can’t confirm the compatibility of Shinabro and Optimus spindle threads right now but it’s possible that if you machine off the Optimus’s pricker rack teeth you’ll have a replacement.

Hi. Thanks for the quick response. Ive been all over the ccs site like a rash and saw your post of the 2 spindles and the same thought crossed my mind. Would you be able to size up both for a positive comparison when you have time to do so? . I'm sure I've got an old opt 111 but without the shinabro spindle I can't do the comparison myself. If you can it would be most appreciated as to get this stove 100% would make the start of 2021 a great year and a boost to my collection
    Thanks again. Allan

@glassmanallan As I’ve just done to ‘alert’ you with the ‘@‘ symbol in front of your user name, I’d have picked up on your request sooner if you’d have used that site facility. I don’t as a rule read every new post since last visiting the site, but an ‘alert’ flags one where someone wants a response.

You’re in luck it turns out. An Optimus spindle can be adapted - by trimming off the pricker rack pinion teeth.

I removed their respective spindles from Opt/Shin.

The Shinabro spindle threads matched those in the Optimus valve and the spindle’s conical tip engaged with the valve seat, shutting off when the tank was pressurised empty of fuel.

Here’s the Shinabro spindle paired up with the Optimus burner. Obviously I didn’t try the other pairing since I’d be ruining an Optimus spindle for its intended application.

That's brilliant. During the intervening period I've already ordered an optimus 111 spindle to work on in the hope it was a potential fix. Many thanks. Allan

@glassmanallan I’d enjoy hearing the outcome Allan, better still with photos.
