I have this old stove with embossed logo and writing. From what I have understood, the box is from the 1950s-1960s. There is a silent burner in the box. The question is whether this burner is as old as the box or whether it is of more recent date. Can you tell the difference between the first generation Optimus 111t and newer versions? I see that the burner shell has a slightly different attachment method than on other 111Ts I have come across.
From: Putting a date to Optimus 111 111/7 silent burner version sold as multi fuel ( kero and petrol ) in the 1959 catalogue. Lettering below burner. Slotted tank lid. Cookie-cuter spindle key. Embossed lid " Optimus 111". No wind shield.
So this is from the 80s? Its a Norwegian military stove, so parts have probably been replaced. The adjustment wheel is fairly new it looks like. The windscreen also seems to be of more recent date.
Mix and Match seems to have been popular in the Norwegian Army: Screw down burner cap on Optimus 111T silent??
So this is a stove from the 1980s that is made for the Norwegian military? Those that have the same attachment are made for military use?
Yes, as regards the burner and regulator. However the case on your stove is earlier, probably dating from the 1950s. Best Regards, Kerophile.
