As someone has put up one of my pictures, I thought I would post the whole set. I like my coffee but obviously the bailetti is far to small to fit on the Trangia stoves and I had the idea of using a bike brake
I also made a protective padded bag. Also a chopping board/draining sieve from a cheap ,thin plastic kitchen board.
Excellent work! Any fool with a credit card can buy the latest or most expensive gadget, but only the skillful user can create what to him is the optimal piece of kit. There is hardly anything you can buy in the shops, that cannot be further improved by a competent and experienced user with the ingenuity and the skills to craft additional kit or make purposeful modifications. I like your disc brake pot stand, but are those not rather expensive? T
Trusty Mc Trad. Thank you. I much prefer making my own kit if I can. The brake discs were bought at a car boot sale for £1 for the two.

This is too big for a Trangia, but it fits well on a two pinter with two (or three) square shape clips The good thing about stainless steel as a trivet for small pots (and the bad thing for cooking) is that it has a relatively poor thermal conductivity compared to brass, aluminium or carbon steel. As a trivet for small pots this is good because it keeps the heat in the middle, but for cooking pots it produces a hot spot and can burn food easily.
Thanks @Driftwood that makes it the Trangia 25. Sadly, that size of brake disk may not be suitable for the smaller Trangia 27 that I have. Regards John
I picked up 2 of these at a boot fair, the guy said there were 4 but he couldn't find the others. Are they wheel spacers ? They are made of a light alloy. To fit the stove they would need a bit of filing as they haven't got the indentations like the discs. Larger hole in the middle, good for the burner flames , would they be ok heatwise?
Haven't got access to it to measure just now but the similar solution that I have for Trangia 27 is shown here. The same thread shows a 180 mm brake disk being used by @GTD on the top pot rest in a Trangia 25. Regards John
The diameters of the base of the pots/pans are: Trangia 25- 150mm (lower) 220mm (upper) Trangia 27- 120mm (lower) 180mm (upper) As per the photos above, there is a little capacity to take something a few mm larger but both those 165mm brake disks are too big, except for the cleaning indents. Correctly varied 165mm disks might work, but 165mm disks in general would not. I've been working on a trivet to suit the 25 (or 27). Will take some photos and post later. I've also built a pot support system for the old style MSR XGK (would suit Model 9 through to shaker jet XGK) that works both with and without a Trangia as windshield. Photos for that to follow too.
Three part trivet. Each part will fit in a 25 kettle along with burner and spondonicles. Despite the multiple holes only 3 are in use- the ones nearest the rivet for the top of a 25, the ones in the middle for the top of a 27, and the ones at the opposite end for inside the 25. The tops have been angled so that the edge of a smaller pot rests on the trivet. Small turns on the end to stop it sliding off. Inside it is flipped and the ends sit on the pot holders. The XGK stand is a variant of the 2nd generation 4 point wire stand but will fit stoves with 1st to 3rd (2 triangular) stands. Retained by the double fold so that it will hang in a Trangia, and with the ends poking in not out. Note the angle on the insertion point- this is required to limbo the double fold into place. With 4 stands inserted, you hold them in place with a spring inside the perimeter. This slides under 3 and is then rotated to hold all 4 before engaging the clip. Built up in a 27 (and of course fits a 25 as well). The construction happens with the XGK pipe inserted through the large side hole and the burner under the support. The XGK is raised about 5mm hanging from the 4 supports. It sits far enough below the pot that it matches the 2nd generation pot stand height to minimise carbon monoxide. You do have to levitate the fuel bottle on sticks, dirt or whatever. Works very well and no melted Trangias yet. The parts fit into a 27 pot (the spring sitting on top of the pot) or all inside a 25 kettle (the spring slid in similar to getting it under the 4 wires).
