Hi, I bought a new Liberty No.3 roarer burner from Parafinalia this week.

The Liberty No.3 is manufactured in Mumbai, India
and offered by Parafinalia for GBP 9 plus shipping.

This is a LARGE burner, probably equivalent to the Primus No.4131 roarer, used on Primus and Optimus No.3 stoves. It has a thread diameter of approx 16mm, so too large to fit Pr,/Op. No. 2 and No.1 stoves (and equivalents).

I fitted The Liberty No.3 burner to a Monitor No.78 stove, a British manufactured stove with an 8 Imperial pint tank capacity.

    Here are few photos:

This appears to be a well-made burner and the threads on my example are good, making fitting easy. The burner is supplied with a flame-ring and burner washer, But NOT a spirit-cup so you will need to supply your own or alternatively make one.

I reckon the burner has a theoretical maximum power of around 10KW or 34000 BTU/hr.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    Hi kerophile

I had noticed that Liberty burner on Parafinalia.
I thought I had mis-read when I saw it was so cheap.
Then I thought that it might be poor quality at that price.

But you have just shown that my fears were groundless.
The burner is amazing for the price.
It is a shame that it will not fit on a No.2

Was there any size problem fitting it to your big Monitor?
Will it fit a Number 3 stove - by that I mean do the screw threads match?

I see they've got massive silent burners up for sale at £9.50 and £3.50 postage. Just ordered one. I'll post details of how it performs.

Thanks for the heads up George.

    Good Morning, Alll,

Thanks, George, for this thread, as it shines the light on what I see as a very good thing in the Stove Community. As we had all hoped, when the Swedish companies decided to stop manufacturing their wonderful kero burners: Other companies seem to be picking up the slack, and after a few missteps, seem to have begun making fairly good replacements for our old burners, both silent and roarer!!! That is a harbinger of many more good years of stove use by those of us who love these old pressure appliances!! HUZZAH!! 8) :D/   :D :D

Thanks, again, for this post, and others like it, that you have made, Kerophile!! Excellent stuff, all around. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Hi here is a Liberty No2 burner fitted to an Optimus 45 works really good. I have shown normal 45 for comparison.

This looks Exactly like the Hipolito No. 2 burner I just bought from the guy in Portugal for my no.2 Hipolito stove. It burns nicely and the stove is a delight. I wonder if they are actually made by Liberty?

Instead of "Liberty", the spreader is marked "Hipolito, made in Portugal"

Does a anyone know if any of these new made burners from India fit the 00 size stove? Or are at least adaptable to fit the 00 stove, I see on The Base Camp website it says 00 burners are obsolete and not available.

No but the same size burner as both are I pint stoves. Primus made the 210 and Optimus made the 00 and I would think that replacement would fit either with the correct riser.
    Edit it should read Juliands
