Hello, all. I have a rather of Optimus No. 1. The burner is bent, and rather worn. I see a lot of “Hecho in India” burners on eBay. I don’t know the thread, but has anyone given them a try?

First Liberty Size 2 Burner turned up today.. Pretty impressed ran for a good 45 mins with monoxide detector within feet, did not trigger at all , clean blue flames on par with gas, this is with Premium paraffin.

@Insigma Do you have a source for these, I can't find a liberty website or find the burners anywhere else?

Hmm. How on earth does one order from a company like that? Anyone had luck? I'm not sure what the deal is these days with import duties etc, I haven't bought anything from overseas post-Brexit. :-k

Hopefully this is allowed ( i am not affiliated with the seller in anyway ) but i ordered from here if you are UK Brass kerosene stove 1 Liter All parts Pump Burner Choose all parts in One Place | eBay

Side note ive been cooking with this Liberty No2 burner now since it arrived and i have to say... its actually really good i may not bother going back to the original brass burner at all.

With Regard to import duties items costing below £135 Vat is charged at checkout , which on this item was about £2 as i bought the no2 burner & no2 flame ring

Thank you, yes sorry maybe I should have pm'd you.

Really I'm after half a dozen No.1 size flame rings, sadly as each item from that seller includes postage it doesn't work out as good value.

Glad you're having good results with the Liberty burner!

Could be worth emailing them, obviously ebay charge quite a lot in fee's so they maybe able to cut you a better deal directly, they should also be able to combine shipping as they are only a light weight item.

How do you know the threads will match? For example, i have an old Optimus No. 1 stove. Is there reason to believe any of these threads will fit mine? Are all burner threads identical?

@Mcbhaine burners come in all different sizes for different size stoves but most similar sized burners are interchangeable. You have a number 1 stove so it will take a no 1 burner but not a no 4. Manufacturers copied parts so they could get the spares market. Fettlebox sold these size burners from India having checked that the threads were ok. However Indian parts are not the same quality and the threads may be shallow. Moreover India has several stove makers so until you get the burner you won’t know. Liberty burners made by palam stove industries seem ok. I believe the ones referenced above are ‘Original’ brand . If you use the search function several members have tried out Indian burners. As the original Optimus burners for your stove are available new and used why not get one if you can’t fix your existing burner?
