Ya Sam is right it sounds like a Coleman 527 These medical stoves stayed in service a lot longer than the 520 did. A great source of parts and the stoves are normally in good shape. I will keep an eye out for the pot support. They made many spare parts for these stoves, including a whole pot support replacement. Cheers, Jeff

The list below is info gleaned from examples I've seen, re: US Coleman No.520 only. c1941 a US Army military specification requested production of a pocket stove, referred to as an M-1941. Coleman was one of the companies to produce an M-1941. For Coleman version it was aka Coleman No.520 (produced 1941-45, '46? Referred to only as 520 below), fwiw M-1941 is the WW2 stove praised by Ernie Pyle. I share details below of *examples. I tried to be accurate with the info that I've listed, not presented as a complete list (not yet) but some may find it helpful. Some No.520 details: 1941 brass tank, 4 leg, small fill tube, aluminum "top half" tin 1942 steel tank, 4 leg, small fill tube, aluminum "top half" tin 1942 steel tank, 4 leg, large fill tube, steel tin 1943 steel tank, 3 leg, aluminum? tin 1944 steel tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin 1944 brass tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin 1945 brass tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin thx omc tag @idahostoveguy PS same list but with more detail: 1941 brass tank, 4 leg, small fill tube, aluminum "top half" tin, 520 tanks were painted green, however for 1941 there are green and also nickel plated tanks. 1942 steel tank, 4 leg, small fill tube, aluminum "top half" tin, held in-place w/spring clip (protects top portion of stove). A steel tank (vs brass tank of '41), was this version destined for ['42] civil defense? 1942 steel tank, 4 leg, large fill tube, steel tin (protects whole stove), funnel not chained, bottom of tin is: U S , C M MFG. CO, 1942 and on another was... U. S. , T.A.C.U. Co. , 1942 1943 steel tank, 3 leg, aluminum? tin, 1943-45 large fill tube and funnel is chained 1944 steel tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin US C M MFG. 1944 on bottom 1944 brass tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin US C M MFG. 1944 on bottom 1945 brass tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin US C M MFG. 1945 on bottom [ 1946 brass tank, 3 leg, aluminum tin US C M MFG. ... ] We will like more examples and more confirmation re 1946 however I do include (presumably rare) [ 1946 ]. Finding 1 vague example and very little mention I am less certain but also find no reason to doubt it... which tentatively puts 520 production ending in 1946. Re tin for rare 1941 520s: known 1941 520 examples have the clip (to secure a top-half tin) and other 1941 520 examples do not have that clip but also do not have their tin. A '41 example with a '41 steel tin (protects whole stove) will be a welcomed line item. [EDIT: details above have been corrected in light of Green 1941 520 (brass tank) ].
Good point on-topic Murph, It's an OLD THREAD, I wish I was aware of that when I put the comprehensive list together above. A quick check of Giri's latest '1941 sweeet Ernie Pyle supports that 1st one's didn't have primer cup. Readers know this post is re coleman M1941 aka coleman no.520 (not PW M1942 but I digress). Huang PW M1942 "hope to see photos" hmmm? I didn't find a '44 M1942 but there are several '45 PW M1942s here's one. Seek and you shall find them (not in this post) . thx omc
