Hi. Does anyone have a proper penta screw tool that fits the Svea 123 fuel cap and can tell me the measurement from one of the flats to the opposing peak in millimeters? I can roughly measure the hole in the cap with my caliper but want a more precise measurement from an actual tool that is known to fit. Thank you in advance.

In THIS thread there was some discussion and I replied I’d ground a pentagon profile out of an Allen key/hexagon wrench. It’s been used a lot over the years, here in the site photo. John
This was just what I was looking for (0.145 inches, or 3.6 mm), thanks all for your replies. I had modified a hex wrench (one of those cheapy Ikea furniture assembly wrenches) into a pentagon shape previously and it got the job done but I was pondering ordering up the bit below from Peerless but it now appears it is about a millimeter too big and would require filing down a bit. Will research the bits on Amazon referenced earlier in this thread by nagant. The $36+ tool I see on ebay is too rich for my blood. Will only be using a few times.
Looks like the Amazon offerings are not quite right, either. There's a 3mm and then it jumps to 4.35mm. There's another set with a 4.03mm bit that may be tapered easily to fit.
You're right. I had the Amazon set. One bit seems to fit but upon turning it seems to round out the hole. The next size up is too large. Is it possible to file those sides a bit?
