I've always kept a few old broken bicycle spokes that come in handy for homemade tools for jobs like this.
I have to admit to not owning any Shinabro to speak of. I'd be more than happy with a good used one, but that is wonderful.

Well it depends.... If it's your only stove and you're relying on it for survival for 12 months then I'd either make sure you have some spare...
Of.course @Ian, iirc the original modifier of the stove into Lidl Trangia copies. One of the reasons I've occasionally looked for another better...

Hi John, @presscall. I've attached a standard C500 cyclinder and the stove works quite happily, sadly it's 11cm dia, and the case will not close...
I suppose it really should be a gassifier John, but went with the Epigas Alpine. :) This stove kept me fed and watered over a few thousand miles...
For several years after about 1990 I cycle toured around Brittany and Normandy, at that time I had virtually nothing to speak of for camping trips...
@Plantpot, access to kero across the UK is patchy and can get pricey. The London question has cropped up before, and probably a few years ago now....
