On the upper surface of the the tank, the multi-language markings indicate this is an Upplands-Vasby made stove. The top of the burner is marked "OPTIMUS-SWEDEN" This Optimus No.1 stove is fitted with a recessed/sunken filler tube, a feature that Optimus introduced to this particular model in 1957/58. The above observations suggest that this particular stove was manufactured after 1957/8 but before 1962 and the formation of the Primus Trading Co.
Nice to have such clear detailing of the changes to these stoves either side of the formation of the PTC. Ian
Hi, I was asked @OMC about the marking on the tank base of this stove. I took an additional photo: Best Regards, Kerophile.
Hi, the winged filler cap on this stove is marked "Optimus" on one side and "SWEDEN" on the other. Likewise, the airscrew is marked "Optimus" and "SWEDEN" on opposing faces. Best Regards, Kerophile.
