Today I made a 100 mile round trip journey to pick up a stove that has been on my wishlist for a long time. It was worth the trip picking it up in Sacramento, CA at a modest price. It is in fairly good condition with a bit of rust on the indentation where priming fuel is used. Otherwise, all I had to do was brush up the dust residue. Missing though was the sticker-decal on the tank itself which has peeled off in time. Notice that the box is printed Phoenix Phoebus 725. I believe Phoenix was the marketing company for the 725 here in the US. The stove itself (based on the print) is made in Austria and all of the similar markings on the tin is Phoebus. The can itself is in fairly good condition with some rust spots and negligible dings from use. The stove puts out a good amount of heat although I have not done yet the tea test. Am fairly confident that it will boil the usual 16oz. in under 6 minutes Ron
Correction - should have read Precise Phoebus 725 and not Phoenix. I was thinking of my clone 625. Ron
Hi Ron Nice stove. The box is very similar to these 2 Taiwan made stoves https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/9372 https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/11109 Sun poer also make a 725 clone... https://classiccampstoves.com/posts/91597 All these Sun power ones are listed by New Zealanders. As far as I know we do not have Phoenix brand here in NZ (I don't really know). Dan
I have seen ugly stoves but this by far rates a 10 on the scale of 1 - 10 for being the ughhhhh-liest. Bet you if it does fire up, that fuel will be gone in less than 5 minutes (if it you do get it to run). mta
I had one, marked Phoenix, several years ago, sold it at a garage sale (tag sale) for $10. Guess my price was a bit low.
