In the UK at least, most 'lamp oil' is C1 paraffin with or without perfume, so the stove should run fine. What brand is the lamp oil?

No skin off my nose! Yes it's close to premium paraffin, will most likely be fine in the 96.

Well I've changed the filler cap seal old one was rock hard , removed the nrv took it apart and changed the pip the original one was half the size of the new one looked very worn, the spring was in good order as far as I could tell tho .there was no lead washer on it so I put it back in the stove without one tried lighting the stove again still not working took the nrv back out and put on a lead washer made no difference nothing I've tried paraffin and lamp oil I'm at a loss what to do next Help! Drain tank, put the vapouriser on the stove, pump up pressure, submerge stove in water with a finger over the jet. A stream of bubbles will show the location of any air leaks. Also remove finger to check bubbles issue from jet, to make sure it is not blocked.

Aha! That's likely to be the problem. When the pump cup was new it was flexible, soft rubber. Now it will be rock hard and very unlikely to produce pressure.

A leather replacement will fit just fine. Not sure of the nut size off the top of my head.

Hi @Adrian e You should have received a replacement leather pump washer if you bought the service pack from Fettlebox:

Hi guys yes the pump cup is very hard plastic I thought it didn't seam right I did have leather pump cup in the service set but it hasn't got a carrier I think that's what's its called . I've ordered another with brass nut and carrier

Hi, you should try fitting a new leather washer in place of the failed rubber/plastic washer. This arrangement will be fixed on the brass shaft and has to rely on by-pass flow to allow air access on the pump on the back stroke.

Yes that's exactly what I'm going to do not sure what size nut that's holding it on I can't get any socket on it as there's no room between the washer and nut .I'll probably just cut the plastic cup off .

Another question: Did you replace the lead washer for the lipstick burner to tank, that came in the pack? Any old lead washer should be removed carefully from the joint, and a new washer fitted.

Right guys here's where I am so far I've changed the pump cup over to a leather one tried pumping it and yippee the stove as now got pressure my only worry is that the leather cup over time might pull over the little nut that holds it on .I did buy another leather cup with a nut and carrier but didn't fit there wasn't enough thread for the nut to tighten it all up I think it was for a different pump assembly to be honest .but I've used the cup out of the service kit I bought and it went straight on but I am worried about the cup pulling over the nut .can't wait to trie it but it's not stopped raining all morning .here's som photos.
