Remember this: Primus No.70; the simple pressure stove with no moving parts. Well, its oppo arrived today and it's another little sweetie. Again, no moving parts, but this one is a silent; Aren't they nice?
Yup, cunningly simple and made of brass, what's not to like? I cant help but compare them to the latest MSR or Primus "Green" , I have to wonder if stove makers havent lost their way just a bit....
Hello, It is just such a simple design that is almost bullet proof. Except for a clogged jet when you out out there not much is going to fail. Chuck
Ian--did they make those burners for the "newer" 70's????--can they still be found and retro-fit onto to our 71's in the cans??
Evening, Ian, A pair of Sweeties, indeed!!! Absolutely lovely, and what a wonderful pair of Sisters to have live with you!! Congrats on bringing them back together as a family, or hey, creating a family for the two of them! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
Ian, Great pair of stoves. Most impressive burn going on that silent burner. Simplicity and function at thier best! Hal
Ian, I can see the grin on your face from here Well done, well done indeed ! They are a pair of beauties, that's for sure. Spudz
You just pick it up by the handle and blow it out. I takes a good hard blast of air. Both stoves are the same to extinguish. If the silent starts to underburn, it is quite hard to blow it out. I managed it, but next time I run the silent I will have a thick cloth to smother it if it underburns.
If my coffee starved brain is working properly, these have 2 speeds, off and wide open? Time to refill the mug. Very cool looking stoves Ian.
Hi Ian. Thank you for teaching the extinction method. It is a method of very interesting extinction. Is manufacturing year understood? Regards Motoshi
