Ok I'm hooked for real, but I've got a problem I have bought 6 stoves in the last 2 weeks and my budget is nearing it's end. I currently can (want) to buy 1 more stove and I have the choice out of the next 3: a Phoebus No. 30, an Aida No 220 and a BAT (Number unknown, but it has a silent burner). Which of upper 3 should I put my money on? The links all lead to a Dutch auction site, but if you scroll down you will see bigger pictures -edit- added a poll
Personally, I would go for the Aida No 220. Because: It is not too big It is collapsible Looks like it has not been used much Has a wonderful tin And, most importantly, I have not got one!!!!!!
If you read the post from our friend Handi-Albert on the BATHere you should be left with a choice of just 2 I would choose the Aida for all of the reasons Trevor gives.
If you're not going to use the stove, acquiring it as a collectible only, I'd recommend whichever one is least commonly available in your locale. I have several useless stoves in my collection, a Handy Camper coilburner, A "Cat" brand 2 pint collapsible silent burner, a brand new in the box, current production made in India collapsible 2-pinter stamped: "ORIGINAL" on the fount. I haven't the nerve to attempt lighting any of them. If you're going to be using it, go for the "AIDA." Very good quality, rugged as an anvil. Gerry
apparently the woman who is selling these items has 2 Aida No. 220's in the offering... I'm already bidding on one of them But I could contact her and see if I can buy them both at once. If you are interested, Trevor, we could come to a nice deal and I will send it to you. If you are interested of-course. PS my current bidding is ?25,-
The Aida should be more valuable I guess, but I personally like Phoebus better, probably because I never will find any here in Finland. I would go for the Phoebus! Anders
Hi, the BAT is an example of Communist-Era engineering at its best and is a POS. The Aida and the Phoebus are both attractive, well engineered stoves and should last for ever with a little care. The price of the Aida at Euro35 is a little high in my opinion. Good Luck, with your choice and the bid. Regards, Kerophile
Hi Ajvuik, Sorry to hear you missed the Aida stoves. You should try to get the Phoebus 30, Austrian stove. Here is a link to some photographs fo my one. https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/6382 Regards, Kerophile.
Nice Stove...very well polished up. I just made a ?25,- bid for the Phoebus 30, we'll see. But what I do hope is that I get this little petrol stove. Do any of you know that stove? -edit- ARGH!!! I just made the bid on the Phoebus... removed the seller the ad!!!
