Hi I recently bought a two burner stove. It seems to have no brand on it at all. Looking at the photos in the gallery it appears to be an Allidan like some of "Darltons" stoves( no metal box). It has regulating burners . My questions are have the burners got internal prickers and secondly are there any operating instructions and also an exploded diagram of this type of burner Thanks , Jim
Out on a limb here and say you are an ozzie. If its an alladin made in oz then the burners are very simular to the primus/optimus ones. The caps are different in minute deatils where they sit and the hole locations etc. But are the "same". The proper caps work best on 'em. They have a pricker needle in them with a rack. http:// Expoled veiw of a the type of burner. Different stove of course. To operate Put some kero in tank. Pump 8-10 times fill preheater pan with metho. Light and leat go out. crack valve and light with match.
Now OZ james your discrition is not the best . I also would say it would be an adustable burners. If it is an Aladdin stove It can come with Swedish burners. If it is the black and white speceld model and you want a carry case I just may have one here in Brisbane.
Hi , Ozjames, Is your Aladdin ?? like/similar to this??. Bruce ,,,, i will post pics of it lit ...one day ... along with a couple more twin burners .. NIck
Looks different from when I sent it. Must have used it. I'll have to find mine and see it if I can get it to go. Barra One day soon..The wet ain't started yet.
Well got the earge to play silly buggas Nick. Woke her up after I don't know 40 years maybe. Mines got a s/s top and different pipe set up with "retro" looking knobs. Bit dark to see proper but you get the idea. Full blast but could pump up more simmer. This stove aint been used much..but..one cap was underburnt to death the other only reds a little at simmer.Changed caps fine so its the caps that I need for it. Put a differnt set of caps on the left hand side. Got to tweek it a bit and get some new caps but it WILL work as it should when I get around to it. May even give it a clean up! Smelt a bit like gum leaves there for a while 8) Now I just gotta get me some of those locking caps the right size. Barra
So now you guys all have the same stove, though in different colours, and then there are at least three different styles of metal cases, how about looking out for the next two generations. I found a cased one with a simpler style of stove shape and burners without the usual flange at the base. Also with a one piece grill type potstand. Then found the next version was a LPG version of the last one. Saw a gas one at the Mailtland swapmeet last weekend, complete with instructions, but I did not need a second LPG stove, though the potstand would have been handy. Fr Laurence
