I'm missing the gasket on pump by NRV. Thank you! That explains it.

Got the 3 mm RC driver from Amazon today. Drilled it out like you advised and that needle came right out with zero effort. I'll pull the stem and give it a more thorough clean tomorrow. For now it got carb cleaner and a test burn. Seems like the range of motion on the flame is back as a needle cycles. It was a mystery sweet spot to get the thing running before. Every day it fires up on yesterday's pumps so that's a good sign. Just dealing with an intermittent pump. Kind of annoying at the moment. I'm half tempted to cut the leather off and put one in from the m1950 recycling the metal part but it only takes 5 or 6 good pumps so having to give it 30 to hit the magic number. Living with it still my best option until the parts hit or someone buys it. Still up on the bay of evil as I contemplate what to do with it. I do love all the brass on it and the way it just closes right up into that box. At least I got to play with it and learn stuff. Will make fixing the next 2 so much easier for sure. Thanks again for all the advice.

@Chris White Aha! My idea worked with the RC car tool too. Awesome! Yeah apparently these stove where supplied with one of these tools but they get lost often so I came up with that solution myself. Treat the cleaning needle like egg shell and be delicate with it as its not that delicate but theyre expensive to replace.
I understand what you mean with the pump. Some people have had good luck with the separation of the pump cap to replace the leather but I didnt bother personally. Just oil it and flare it out with your fingers a few times and usually they pop back into shape for pumping consistently.
Personally I would keep it for yourself since its grown on you...nothing like thinking about that thing you liked that you ended up selling and later saying "you know...I sold it but I kind of regret it"
Forum is full of posts like that.

Glad its up and running for you though! A lot better than it not.

Shaft collar installed. More cleaning to the needle area. Removed it again. Once again still fired up on yesterday's pumps I think fives the magic number. If stoves just worked they wouldn't be as much fun! Still for sale. I do like the brass though. PXL_20250603_193058244.jpg

@Chris White looks good! Still surprised you're selling it.....

Btw... The thin disk fits in the groove of the cleaning needle knob....so when you pull them out and put them back they slide together

@Chris White works better with 5 pumps than 50 right?

They're great stoves...I got a few previous hard luck case types that I resurrected haha

I personally like the shaft collar more than the clip.... It looks like it belongs there originally

The cleaning needle shafts pull is a little tough on the way out. Pump pressurizing needs tweaked and mix could be a little smoother and I'd sign off on her. My wife and daughter went to yoga which gave me an additional 2 hours more to burn today. Thinking it's about the third tank I put through it. The white gas is really cleaning the system up nice.

@Chris White Try a small piece of paperclip filed smooth and turn the set screw on the shaft collar slightly looser. Once you find the right tightness use some locktite threadlocker to hold the screw from backing out.

Big day in the garage. Pump pumping like it's supposed to. Adjusted and loctited the collar. Definitely sliding a lot better. Mixing valve working as it should. Straight up and the needle is in the jet and straight down wide open. Whip her up and down a few times until you see the blue you like. No longer using denatured alcohol to prime it. 15 seconds with the torch and she lights up just fine. Tank holding pressure. Sheesh. Minus the stiffness going on with the mixing valve set up which just needs more time with me most likely. I'd finally sign off on this as a quality running stove. Phew... Thanks again for all the help, I really do appreciate it.

@Chris White absolutely not a problem! Glad I could be a service! The issue with stiffness can be adjusted by loosening the bolts on the valve and cleaning needle loose, then turning them back to just snug and try it and see if there's leaks. Tighten a little at a time where you find a nice place where it doesn't leak and turns with a slight resistance.
Are you still selling it? Or did it warm up on you?

It's still up for sale. I personally like fixing things. I get some odd satisfaction finally getting these old things to work. I'm not making any money on it. Just a fair deal for whoever wants it. I've got two more coming. I can't justify three at this point. Two maybe?
