    Okay so it does not soot up but the shiny part gets dull due to the heat I suppose.

    Also on a Svea 123.

    I'd like to get one of those caps for myself -- are you taking any more orders, or did I miss out on a "limited run"?

    The stoves do seem to burn hotter with the silent caps than with the standard burner plate. On the 123 we got a few seconds of classic silent cap underburning, but the standard treatment -- shutting down and immediately relighting -- put everything right.

    I'm wondering how much hotter the stoves themselves get using the silent cap -- may have to do the experiment and find out.

    Very impressive workmanship and performance.

    A most lovely 71. What year is your latest 71, Ian?

    Those silent caps do look rather interesting. Perhaps I'll have to try one on my Svea 123 -- but a silent Svea 123, why that's almost a contradiction in terms.
