    Thanks, I had the itch to pimp it out but really wanted to restore it to factory appearance. I may still buy a junker and really weird it out! Maybe glitter and sequins....Nah.... [-X

    Fantastic job.

    Is that a commercially available paint, or is it a custom mix? I have never found something on the shelf that approximates the original(s).

    Itchy, it is off the shelf Rustoleum Hammered Finish blue. A heavy coat will result in the hammered finish but lighter coats result in a smooth finish. I think I got mine at an Ace Hardware store.

    I've used the hammered stuff on about three stove cases now. Really looks good on heavily pitted cases. Now that I know it takes time and a heavy coat of paint. My Optimus 22 turned out nice, a darker gray than original. Unfortunately, the dents show up after the paint is applied. I thought it was in better shape, but it has been saved.
