Our resident surgeon Doc Mark can diagnose your infection buddy. However, there is only one cure.....Baja...LinuxAuthor.....tell him what the cure is.

Nice clean up  lemme wipe off the drool from my keyboard :rage:

Loco7stove, what you have is called "Stove Pox" and there is no cure. You just have to learn to live with it.....and that's the best part!

An addiction- I think not. Think of it as a calling- turning an old beat up stove into a functional work of art. These are definately beauty's. Great work!!!!

    Hey, Loco7stove,

Yes, you DO have the Stove Pox, and no, there is NO known cure, nor will there ever be one!! The best treatment is to give up and let it take it's course. The end result, with almost 100% certainty, is that you will be happy, fulfilled, and relaxed, once you give in to the Stove Pox!!! I'm sure you have gathered that almost all the rest of us suffer from the same condition, and that most of us have given in to it, to one extent, or another! We speak from experience, Sir, and know that this advice is the best we can offer you!!! Buying and fettling more stoves, then sharing them here, is the very best medicine you can obtain!! By the way, NO charge for the house-call tonight, Sir!! Free of charge to all CCS Stovies, always!! ;) ;) 8)  Take care, and enjoy the ride!! God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark

P.S. Great job on the fettling and cleaning! You are well advanced into the Pox, already!! Cool!!  8) 8)

    Linux author said
There is (a cure) but the withdrawal symptoms too severe to tell - just pack up all your stoves and send them over to Linux author and forget they ever existed.

Nice clean up, wish I could get that ambitious. I have an old Monitor that I don't think anyone could help. At least it was cheap, now I know better.

Stu i'm not surprised you have aquired the dreaded stove pox. Doc seems to be a carrier and thus anyone and everyone he comes in contact with, regardless of his connection comes down with it. Just have a look at yourself, you get a stove, visit this site and now you have it. Doc just spoke to you from his base in California and you became infected. Spiritburner also is a carrier and can infect anyone with even the least bit of impact in their lives. He set up the site way back when and now has a following that spans the globe. I'm thinking it's more infectious than the flu or even the common cold.

Now please do us a favour and turn off the Caps lock. As a rule caps in a posting indicates you are yelling at your audiance and i'm sure you have no intention of doing that.

Btw welcome to the ship of pyros and madders of the flame.

hi Lance, look iv,e stopped shouting ,sorry about that but i think this affliction was affecting my hearing & eyesight because all i could see was stoves, stoves & more stoves & hear was roarers & the faint hiss of a silent burner, i thought it was paraffin induced tinitus, but in the end it was just me being daft not releasing the caps lock key kind regards Stu.

    Morning, Stu,

Ahhhh, "paraffin-induced tinnitus"!!! That's the first sign that my plan to truly infect you has worked like a charm, Sir!!! BWAA-HAA-HAA!!!!    ;) 8)

By the way, we ALL have "paraffin-induced tinnitus", to one level, or another, Stu! Comes with the territory.... and from listening to music too loudly.... and spending too much time in tanks in the military.... and from shooting guns as a kid, without hearing protection..... and from loving my family of MSR X-GK and FireFly stoves too much!!!! ;) 8)   :D/ :D/

Now that my plan to infect you has worked well, there is no turning back! So, you may as well just enjoy the ride, and give in to the symptoms: seek out and buy more stoves!! 8) :D/  Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc (I tried to infect CWO Lance, after I met him, but soon found out that he was already an advanced carrier of the Stove Pox!!) 8) 8)

A ha Doc Mark, i suppose my term in the armed forces may have led to an early contamination by working on & servicing mobile field kitchens as a combat chef, but i think it may have even started earlier than that as a lad survival camping in the local forest, fire & flames seem to be in my blood & theres nothing i can do to tame it, what a damn shame !!!!!! kind regards Stu
