It's a stove that goes with an age of elegance and leisurely pace

Hang on, I'll get the kettle out of the way

It appears in this Arara catalogue from the 1930's

The burner principle is very similar to what I here called the second variant of a Tito Landi stove

    Tito Landi

The fuel is gravity-fed to the sump of a vertical vapourising cylinder, a wick carrying the fuel up to the burner, where the vapourisation takes place

Priming sequence, using a little thimble-sized cup attached to the fuel filler cap to transfer a priming shot to the burner priming cup

    1342890281-14.JPG 1342890296-15.JPG 1342890312-16.JPG 1342890330-17.JPG 1342890344-18.JPG

Like the Tito Landi, this Arara has burner outlet holes set around the inside perimeter of the burner ring to ensure the vapourising chamber stays hot enough to do its job without burning the wick. At risk of sounding like character Nigel Tufnel (Spinal Tap), the Arara has six to the Tito Landi's four though

Puts a lot of heat out when turned up to, er, eleven

Gawd, I used to have a collection of those cube Hotel teapots when I collected and dealt a bit in Deco stuff. A treat to see one again. Lovely pics as usual!

    Thank you John.
Beautiful example of another different style of stove.
I see the priming thimble can also tell the user there isn't enough fuel, if the thimble is empty. ... NO PRIME - NO BURN!!

    Thanks again.

Cool stove and great pics John.
The Arts and Crafts style oak table looks to be from the same era as the stove.

elegance and beauty of a stove. The tea set outdoors on a green grassy yard complement it well. All that is needed is a outdoor table and tea set with a some fine company. The english sure know how to do tea.
