Well, I got the irony, Terry.

The UK gripped by hyper-fear? - for God's sake, don't talk wet! Far too much hyperbole by some folks here... ](*,)

Do not mix things up Ross.
My reaction(s) were not meant as an answer to Daryoush's initial question. After all, plenty of answers there, don't you agree?
My general take on wordly fear I brought up to explain the nature of my reaction, and what prompted me.
Not meant as a rant, critique, or whatever.

Although given as an explanation, and apology, to Daryoush only, I felt it better to be open about it considering some other reactions.

Sounds like what you fear is fear of fear itself. Is your fear irrational?

Well, Graham, we haven't feared socialism for a long time. When even you guys jettisoned it several decades ago, we rested easy at last. 8)

We never had it to start with. It was a myth of electoral convenience. Which is why I pee myself laughing when some Americans repeatably point to Europe saying "Socialism doesn't work".

    Hi Ross

Thank you my good friend for your reply on my behalf. I could not have said it better myself. "simple questions not getting simple answers". For the love of God I can't understand how this person have concluded I have been overcome by fear by just asking a simple question.
I have read the post by Dutchmike and Docmark. But I decided to wait one or two days before I give those two loony birds a piece of my mind.
I hope you won't mind. I did my best to be civil and polite, the first couple of times.

    With Respect
    Daryoush

Well, if you want to be "civil and polite", you can start by not calling well-regarded, long-time CCS members "loony birds".

If you've "done your best" to be civil and polite, then it will be interesting to see how you do at your less-than-best!

Who can argue the point, Graham? If "socialism" didn't work, then it was never socialism! Because if it had been socialism, it would have worked!

    QED....

Simple questions on this forum sometimes lead to (more or less) heated political (or other) discussions that are way off the original intend of both the question and the raison d'être of this otherwise mostly wonderful and great forum

    Just my 2pence

    Best regards,

    Wim

Frankly, I'm proud of how humanity has struggled with horrific perils—asbestos, war, sugar, civil unrest, trans-fat, socialism, alcohol, rock and roll, doughnuts, capitalism, lead paint, goose liver pâté, Happy Meals, communism, kidney pie—yet overcome it all to develop the technology to tweet itself.

    Hello, Daryoush,

First of all, Sir, my comments were not aimed in your direction, even in the least!!!!! I was talking about a bad phenomenon that has overtaken our world, where too many people worry about things that turn out to be either overblown, or simply not true!! So, things get banned, restricted, and made illegal, all for nothing, as things turn out! THIS is the thing about which I was talking, and not your original post, even in the least!

I also assure you that, whilst DutchMike and myself may, indeed, be "looney birds", we are basically harmless and quite lovable and sharing, when you get to know us!! ;) ;) 8) :D By the way, simply by becoming a member of CCS, you, Sir, as automatically classed as a "looney bird", right along with the rest of us Stove Pyros!!! Hey, any group of guys that derive pleasure from storing and using flammable fuels, in devices that sometimes fireball on them, MUST be "looney birds", don'cha think??!! ;) ;)

No offense meant, Daryoush, and I'm sorry that you took it all that way. Please accept my sincere apology, Sir, and know that no bad intent towards you was meant, nor implied. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

P.S. Brother Ed, many thanks, from both Michael and me!

I am waiting. Let us hear, Daryoush.
And if you have it in you to be that candid, please do so with your real name.

    Michael Meijer

P.S. I do not speak for Doc Mark

DIY philosophy: if it is logical, very probably it is or will very soon be forbidden.

Prohibitions are a matter of power, logics are a matter of brain. Any stone can break a skull, but it takes the effort of a clever brain to break the stone. So, as a rule, stones prevail over brains, with some, rare but noteworthy exceptions.

    Hi Doc

What the hell, now you made me feel bad about what I said. Let's forget about this whole thing.
    Water under the bridge.
Ross and Trevor please forgive me for being out of line on your site.

    Best

    Good Morning, Daryoush,

Water under the bridge is OK by me, so let's call it all square. Now, you will have to attend one of the CASG events, since they are held well within driving distance for you, and you will meet lots of other crazy folks with whom you can enjoy some quality stove time! ;) :D

DutchMike, I am sorry that I guess I "did" speak for you, my Friend. In the future, I will refrain from doing that, and apologize for slipping in this instance. I know you can full well speak for yourself, and that's the way it should be. But, I, personally, know that you are a good man, and a sharing person, and that's what I was trying to get across, misguided through it might have been in the attempt.

Down the mountain today, and in fact, I'll pass not too far from where Daryoush lives, on my way to deepest LA for an eye exam. I'll wave out the window as I pass. ;) :D Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hello Mark,
I realised you were speaking out of that big heart you have, and if anything, I find it warming.
    Thank you.

Not sure where your reaction was coming from, 'Daryoush', but I find it bizarre.
I will not press you further to come forward, so this is where I draw the line under this topic as well.

    Mike

I am very certain that Svea121's 'real' name is Daryoush from the dealings I have had with him.

No need for an apology Daryoush - it was perfectly reasonable in my view to conclude the accusations of unfounded fear was aimed at your innocent question. Water under the bridge as you say & I'm sure you can forgive the challenge on your 'real' name too.
