    Not quite the first stoves - wick stoves had been around a good while. Your stove is an Assurans by Assuranskökbolaget patented by Forsberg in the 1870's - likely to be the first petrol stove of this type. Nybergs later stove is uncannily similar!

    The distinction with the later paraffin pressure stoves was the addition of a pressurizing device to force the less volatile fuel into the burner.
