Small problem is that I never placed anything on YouTube, but I will try to do it. And what concerns auto start for me is when you don't need to use a lighter - progressively rising preassure in the tank may be dangerous...

@Stanisław Grajewski oh ok I understand, the “auto ignition” is achieved by many stoves as discussed before.

This model, instead, is capable to start and maintain a decent self pressure without pumping… why do you think this is dangerous?

First of all - great restoration work! Unusual ! I used word "dangerous" because the preassure in the tank is worse controlled during ignition process than in case of stoves with standard construction ( may be it doesn't have any meaning ). And btw. - the "auto ignition" function was observed by me mainly on stoves with silent burners.
And - last but not least - the final height of the flame shown on film would incline to make one - two strokes of pump

@Stanisław Grajewski yes, also consider that some silent stoves have attached to the alcohol cups elements that drive a final pilot flame up to the outer cap of the burner, both to auto ignite and avoid underburning.

For sure with one or two pump strokes the Auto Optimus would work certainly better (with full pressure is a beast), but in the meanwhile it generates a good blue flame that for sure is sufficient to boil a pint of water in a decent time, without any additional operation requested.

As I explained some posts before, this system obviously is meant to work with a kettle already on the stove, so the reflected heat will probably help to auto generate a more powerful flame.

Is commonly accepted by collectors the fact that probably that Auto Optimus system was discontinued merely for production costs reasons. The advantages probably didn’t justify the extra costs.

Regarding the 96 that can auto start, that’s not surprising. Considering the very small tank, it’s easy to generate during pre heat enough pressure to make the stove start easily without pumping. The lipstick burner is directly connected to the tank increasing the capability to vaporize enough kerosene also with a low pressure.

Different story with two pints stoves, where the greater mass, tank and distance from tank to burner are way greater than a 96, so the two stove types can’t really be compared in this case.
