Had to repaint the case and so far I like the color chosen, although not like the original, it suits me. Also got one of the new parts in, a new heat shield. As you can tell from the before and after pictures, she is looking pretty good compared to her as received condition.

Next is an internal rebuild and a new spirits pan and maybe another coat of paint!

This is fun! Wish I would have found out about this earlier!

Looking good. I'm enjoying repainting my stoves too. I've done four cases so far this winter, a 111 that is just a little older than yours, embossed 8, 8R to give away just about, 22B and now my 22 to finish off the season. I need to rig up a electrolysis setup, the metal would look so much better. Oh well, stopping the rust. I'm very surprised how much rust is under the paint on partially rusted cases.

As you said - the paint colour suits you, and that is all that matters.
I've painted some black and orange, and other colours, no need to follow convention.
You have done a good job there.

Thanks guys, your words are encouraging. Stu, I have not forgotten about you. I'll tell you later via PM what I'm up to!

Being at the ends of the earth here in Maine, trying to find matching colors (colours for my EU friends) is like trying to ______(fill in the blank!). We have a hardware store on the island but it is limited, I have to go 30 mins north to the nearest one and I am lucky if they have a selection without special ordering!

I suspect some of my fellow stove collectors outbid me on several stoves I looked at on line! Who else would slap down 275 for a cherry Radius 43? LOL!

More to follow when I do a bit more on her. Now it's just hurry up and wait for my parts.

Turned this 111B into a kero burning model due to a crack in the head on the burner on the underside. Found a basket case 111 kero model and switched it out. Cracked on going to Lance for repair. [-o<

Here she is all finished and burning away!
