1)Were the box-windscreen sets ever made for the more modern wire leg(S200) bleuet style as they are sometimes paired in ebay items but I don't see how the box can act as a stabiliser in same way as the earlier (and nicer looking?) metal can base (super?)bleuets slot in to their box in windshield mode?

    2) I can see the attraction of the disposable can bleuet for the 60s human powered campers but surely for motorvehicle transport only use the refillable 901 cylinder-top stove is safer, simpler, and possibly cheaper to run in long run (and greener? ).

    1) Never seen a boxed windscreen set for a S200 (aka Super Bleuet). All the boxes I have seen have been for the De Luxe version with fully enclosed cartridge.

    2) Through the 70s there was clearly a market for both.

@lamp They are all equally good to buy and sell.
The early dark blue ones are probably the rarest, but I don’t think they came in tin boxes.

With fear of retribution on resurrection of an older thread, There gazs200.jpg is some amazing information here.
I recently came to own a S200 DL with 3 Cartridges, and the Original Plastic cover and it works perfect. They stated they tossed the Case? After seeing the Metal Cases on here. I am now determined to locate one for displaying this. If anyone has one. I might be willing to trade as well. I have an empty 1945 US Coleman Case for the 530 or m1942 types.

@Jeffrey Walker So you'll be looking for one with the natural alumin(i)um inner lining then? Sure I could spare one and in nice order too, but I am the wrong side of the Pond to make it cost effective to post.

I would imagine so. I see they have painted as well as natural. Not sure what exactly what version would go with this stove per say as I don't know the exact date.
I was initially under the Impression "case" was a Cardboard Box. It was not until after I see the metal box / integrated Stove - Wind screens and holder etc..
Yeah, im sure shipping would be quite the expense. Appreciate the info! I shall be on the lookout now.

The later tins did not have cartridge containers with "waisted" tops.

    Hi All
I know this is an old thread but does anyone know which lanterns were made to fit the super bleuet de luxe tin?
I have a couple of the tins and also a T206 lantern, but it is too tall to fit the tin
    Thanks

    @Steve Holt
    Hello and welcome!
I am not aware of any lanterns that might fit in the tin, which AFAIK was designed to carry the Bleuet stove and a spare gas cartridge and provide windshielding for it when in use.
It would be sensible to be able to protect a lantern which has fragile glass and an ash mantle but as the Lumogaz lanterns contemporary to the Bleuet stoves all used pierce-able gas carts, there is no way of separating them to reduce the height. I recall having an Epigas adaptor, an orange plastic housing, in the late 70's which effectively converted the cartridge to resealable. It got binned after falling out of the boot of the Austin A35 and unseating its cartridge.
I recall my wife saying "The stove's alight". "Good", was my reply, with visions of hot tea soon. "No" she said calmly - "the stove's ALIGHT". We managed to put it out without incident. Nigh on 40 years ago, now. Don't think I will ever forget it. Never bought a replacement adaptor!!

@Dean Aah right! Thanks for that

It seems a shame they didn't make a lantern to fit as the tin provides the obvious protection for something more fragile

However, on closer inspection of the Lumogas T206, it has the same valve block and thread as the Globetrotter (I have already swapped out the Bleuet burner with drop down supports in favour of the Globetrotter burner)

So there is the option which I'll try later of having the stove with Globetrotter burner on and the lantern head and a spare cartridge on the other side - I just wouldn't be able to use stove and lantern at the same time

I have now read the latest tread, I think to use the stove with Globetrotter burner or the lantern head , it will be necessary to alternate the jet, spare part 5010001036 for the stove, 17206 for the Lumogaz T206.

Greetings from the USA. I have two of these units and this info. is extremely helpful. I was hoping that someone would know the approximate date these boxed stoves were discontinued.
    Thanks again....Greg...
