    Rj,
Sorry if I affended you, that is far from what I meant. So please accept my apolagy Please. I was just tossin out an idea that may help everyone that wants a wrench, and needs a different type wrench. I was just thinking (which is dangerous) that if one wrench could be made to suit all that need one.I am sorry for affending you by all means.Hope all is well.

    Best Regards, God Bless

    Greetings, All,

Sorry to be so long in getting back to everyone on this, and for the PT's that I've only just now been able to answer. We're working away, right now, and my time is not my own. Even on the road, I have to work, now. I hope to get some stove hunting in for part of one day, but if I can't accomplish my work goals, that will most certainly NOT happen. In any case, here's what I can relate, so far. As more info comes my way, I will pass it on to everyone who's signed on to this fun and worthwhile project.

I talked to Joe, and he things that the wrenches, even if made from mild steel, do not need to be made thicker, and will be plenty strong enough for our applications. He also has found that he "might" be able to get to this stuff far sooner than he had thought at first! So, he asked for me to send the sample Enders wrench, and I did so, after some head-scratching as to which single wrench to send. To answer Markus' question, yes, I did see a difference between the three wrenches I had on hand, but mostly, it was not too much. I tried all three of my wrenches on several Enders stoves, and all three wrenches worked on all of the stoves, which were: two Enders Military stoves, both 9061's; an Enders civilian Model 9060D; and, one of the two Baby Enders that I own. I found that one of my three wrenches fit all of the stoves just a little bit tighter and better than the other two wrenches, which were just a tad loose in their fit. Personally, I think all three would work OK on any versions of those stoves, but in truth, as Joe was in dire need of my sending him the sample wrench, a decision had to be made, and had to be made immediately!! So, rather than complicate things, and possibly blow the time window that Joe may have on the horizon, which would get us our reproduction wrenches much quicker than he had thought, I made a "command decision", and send Joe the best of the three Enders wrenches I have on hand. He will make a prototype wrench, and send it to me to test for fit, finish, and quality. If the prototype is as good as I strongly believe it will be, and after talking to Joe, both on the phone and in email, I truly believe he is exactly what he seems to be, an honest, and good person, who is also a great craftsman, I will go ahead and place our entire order for the 30 wrenches that he will make for us. As I posted before, we will only get 30 wrenches out of this deal, and he will sell the other 30 which he is going make (initial run of 60) on his 'flea bay site. So far, I believe we have members who have spoken for around 24, or so, of those wrenches. When I get back to the studio, I will tally up what I have on hand, and make a positive post about who is on the list, and how many wrenches each person has ordered. If there are any left, I will share that information for those interested folks who decide they would like to have one of them. Otherwise, if you miss your chance to get some of these now, you can deal directly with Joe in the future, buying these from him on his auction site on 'the bay, unless he decides there is not enough interest to keep making these!!

So, that's where we stand right now, and I sent off the sample to Joe yesterday, on our way to this current gig. He should receive it tomorrow, or on Monday, at the latest, and we will see how things go.

My sincere apologies to Markus, and anyone else who have specific wrench sizes of Enders wrenches they had hoped to be able to buy. The logistics of gathering samples of every single Enders wrench size, was totally and completely beyond the time allowed for getting this initial project off the ground. IF Joe makes a wrench that most of us will support, and I translate that for one and all as "buy from him" ;) ;)    8) 8) :D :D , then he "might" open things up to special orders for those who have different needs for their Enders stoves. But, in the time I had to decide which single wrench to send as the first sample, I picked the one that best fit the most popular Enders stoves that we all know, love, and have. I forgot that I also have a wonderful Enders Model 100, which is in the upstairs stove room, and which I recently bought from "Hazet", one of our CCS Brothers!! I apologize for not testing that stove, too. But, in truth, and after thinking about it, that Enders has a completely different style of wrench, and as such, would have to be dealt with in some future project of this type. Again, my apologies to anyone who might not be served by this first project. But, I think that most Enders stove lovers will be happy with the results of the wrench that Joe is going to make for us, and that, my Friends, is really, really great news, and offers wonderful results for such a slam-bam project!!! ;) 8)

I'll keep you apprised as I learn more about how things are going, and will test the sample wrench that Joe sends, as soon as I receive it. We do have quite a few long gigs in the next few months, but once I'm back in the studio, I'll test, and photograph the prototype Enders wrench from Joe, and post all the results, and my comments, right here for all to see! One last thought, then I HAVE to go....

Many thanks to one and all who chimed in about my shipping situation on these wrenches! CCS has the best group of members anyone could EVER want in such a venture!! Much appreciated, guys, and we'll work out all those kinks, when the time comes, with help from all those who are a part of this interesting, fun, and very rewarding project!! Thanks, once again, to Joe, who very kindly has offered to do this for us, and I, for one, will be keeping an eye on his auction site, to see what magical goodies he might be offering us Stovies, now and in the future!! We must cherish and support our true craftsmen, Mates, as such folks are VERY special, especially in today's work, when the average one on the street doesn't know to blow his/her own nose, much less lazer-cut some outstanding Enders repro wrenches for us Stove Nutters!!! ;) ;)    Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc (back to work, or Sweet Bride will beat me like a rented mule..... or, a toy drum.... or, a dirty old rug!!!  ;) ;)    )

    Hey, Guys,

Just time for a short note. Thanks to those who sent messages today, and I've updated our list of wrench orders accordingly.

Also, Colemanblues, I do not think that RJ was offended, at all, and simply saying that when he posted his note to you. I am most certain, after reading his posts for a few years here at CCS, that he understands what you were trying to say, and that he agrees with you. In my post earlier today, I said much the same as did you, in just a little different way. "It will all come out in the wash", as we used to say in Texas!! But, at least for this initial order, we have to stick to one wrench type, and one, only. I think everyone understands that, now, and accepts the inevitability of that decision. Thanks for trying to help through your comments, but please don't worry about offending RJ. I believe all is well on that front. Take care, All, and I'll talk to you again as soon as I can. God Bless one and all, and good night!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Greetings, All,

Just time for a quick update. So far, we're still waiting for further info to come in, regarding materials, and time, and so we're sort of in a holding pattern. But, you know, good things are well worth waiting for, as they say, and I'll keep you all posted when more news comes down from Joe. He's been top notch in the communication area, and that is always much appreciated!

I think that RJ is right in that the wrench we've having made should work in most all the Enders stoves. Keep your fingers crossed, Folks, and we'll see how it all turns out. Joe said he "might" look into getting "Enders" etched in script on the wrench, as some versions have! But, with, or without the etching, I'm going to be a Happy Chappy when this project is rolling along, and it it turns out as I believe it will, we all owe Joe a debt of thanks, and our financial support for his outstanding efforts in all this! ;) 8)  Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Greetings, All,

Just time for a quick update on our Enders Wrench project: Joe has finished the wrenches, and has sent me two to test, along with my original wrench, which I had send him as a template. I hope to receive them soon, and then test the fit of the two wrenches, which represent the stainless, and carbon steel wrenches that Joe has made for us. If they test as good as I believe they will, I think we really have some winners on our hands, Gents! I'm posting a photo of the two wrenches Joe has sent me to test, each one flanking the original one I sent him to use as a template. I think Joe's work is excellent!

    1317775277-IMG_1917.jpg

So, how do these look to you, Folks? I'm really looking forward to doing a little testing, then getting our orders received and sent out to those that wanted in on this deal. Joe is giving us a special deal, my Friends, for the 30 wrenches that we will be receiving. He is asking $10 each for the carbon steel wrenches, and $12.50 each for the stainless steel versions, plus shipping. We will be the only ones to get this deal, though, and he will be tacking on a bit more for the rest of the Enders wrenches he makes for his eBay site. So, be thankful, Friends, and let us all give Joe a huge "THANK YOU!?, when our original transaction is said and done!!! I'll post my test reports when I return from my next gig, then let each of you know what to send as payment for the wrenches you have ordered. Thanks, again, for your interest and support on this, and I have a strong feeling that we'll all be very happy with the Enders wrenches that Joe is reproducing for us!! Take care, and talk to you soon. God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc (who will still be a bit scarce for a little while longer.....)

Thank you Doc for the update. As you stated, the wrenches look great and I will bet they fit just as well as the original, if not even better  . Thanks again Doc for doing a lot of the legwork!

    Hey, Dan, and All,

Thanks, very much, Dan! I really am glad that Joe stepped up to the plate on this one, and look forward to testing his sample wrenches, which should arrive tomorrow. Joe has asked that we complete this deal before October 31st, so after I post my report, I'd surely appreciate everyone who is on the list contacting me to firm things up, and get payment sent. Joe will be shutting down his eBay store for a few weeks of rest and relaxation, and we need to take care of payment before then. I'll be out of touch until around the 17th, but will post my test report before I head out. Then, once back again, I'll contact all involved, if they have not already contacted me, and firm up the details. Talk to you later, and as always, God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hi Doc,

Really they look excellent. At the beginning I stated I need two wrenches. But upon my wrench inquiry one of CCS Mates offered me 1 as a trade with pump leathers. Hence my current need 1 wrench.

I prefer stainless one please. How can I pay and get the wrench?

    Greetings, Guys,

Just time for a short note. Lots of work on tap right now, and I've got a cold/flu, and poor Sweet Bride fell and broke her foot! So, we're not running on all cylinders right now! :-({|=

I received the wrenches that Joe sent as samples, and think they are very nice, indeed. I have now tested them on all my Enders stoves, and found them to work very well. One thing to note, however, is that the large open-end wrench is slightly large and therefore does not fit quite as tightly as the original Enders wrenches. But, I found it easy to use it to open and close the pump nut, anyway. Just wanted to you know about this in advance. Since there wrenches are in super short supply, and since the ones Joe made work very well, I have no problems with a tiny bit of play on the large wrench. You can still crank down just fine with it.

As mentioned earlier, Joe would like to complete this deal by October 31st, and we should be able to do that OK. I will be working away for a while, but when I return, I will gather the names of those who have expressed an interested in these neat repro wrenches, and send the final order to Joe. We are figuring out the shipping details right now. Talk to you all soon, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

    Good Morning, CCS Mates!

Sorry I've been absent for a bit. Work has been very demanding, and we've been had-pressed to keep up. This is a good thing, and we're grateful, but it also leaves little time for other things, like visiting CCS.

In any case, Joe has now sent me another update, and we're getting ready to close out this project. So, here is the latest information:

    - Joe had tightened up the specs on the large wrench openings on all the wrenches that he made, after we discussed the fact that this was a bit over-size. This is a good thing and much appreciated.

    - He also bought a bead blasting glass cabinet, and has bead blasted some of the wrenches, for a wonderful mat finish! If anyone wants this feature, they may have it for no extra charge! How's that for taking good care of us, Folks!?!   8)

So, here's where we stand, so far. I've tried to update this information, but please check and see if I have it right. If you want more, or less wrenches, please let me know as soon as you can. Joe would like for us to be all finished by December 1st, which is a very reasonable amount of time for us to get the wrenches paid for and delivered. Here's the list of those who wanted to purchase wrenches:

    - Sefa: 1 wrench, stainless.

    - Doc: 6 wrenches, 3 carbon, 3 stainless.

    - Big BTU: 4 wrenches, stainless.

    - BernieDawg: 4 wrenches, stainless.

    - Yonadav: 2 wrenches, no preference given.

    - TopGrunt: 3 wrenches, no preference given.

    - Baja Bum: 1 wrench, stainless.

    - Coleman Blues: 2-3 wrenches, no preference given.

    - dday: 2 wrenches, no preference given.

    - Bjorn: 1 wrench, carbon steel.

    - Lance: 2 wrenches, no preference given.

    - Russenjesus: 5 (?) wrenches, no preference given.

That equals 34 wrenches, and we have only 30 at our disposal. So, for those of us who have ordered multiples, please think about cutting down one wrench, so that each person can have what they would like. I would do so, and maybe a couple of other might, too. For instance, if you ordered 6, like me, how about 5, instead? Please give this some thought, and let me know what you think. Also, for those who gave no preference for materials, please let me know if you would prefer carbon steel, or stainless. And for everyone on the list, please let me know if you would like your wrenches bead-blasted, which offers a lovely mat finish, or as cut. Here is a photo of two wrenches, one as cut, and one bead blasted:

    1319561623-IMG_1923.JPG

I like the looks of the bead blasted wrenches! The blasting also tempers the surface of the wrench, according to Joe, and that would make it even stronger than it already is.

Please let me know if your order is correct, and your preferences, as to stainless, or carbon steel, and if you want your wrenches to be bead blasted, or as cut. Also, please send me your full names and shipping addresses, but please do this as a PT, instead of in this thread.

Last, for those who will miss out on the initial 30 wrenches, Joe will be offering more of these on his eBay site, probably in December, but for a little higher price. Ours is a special deal, as we are all test subjects in this! ;) 8) :D Thanks, again, for your interest in this project, and I look forward to placing our final order with Joe, and then receiving the wrenches, and shipping them out to you. Payment can be made via PayPal, if needed. Though I no longer really use my account for purchases, it should work OK to receive payments, and I'll get PayPal to cut me a check when it's all said and done. For those in the US, you can send me a check, or Money Order, if you would rather, and I'll send you an address to which you can send it. After all the payments have come in, and remember, this has to be a done deal by December 1st, I'll send Joe his payment for a great job, well done!! Sound good to all concerned? Works for Joe, and it works for me, too. Take care, Lads, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

P.S. I won't be able to spend a lot of time here, for a bit. But, will check my PTs, and this thread, and get back to you as quickly as I can. Thanks, again!

Hi Joe and welcome to the CCS forum. I am sure many more guys will be along to say the same thing, but I think I can speak for everyone and say "Thank You Much" for offering these wonderful high quality replacement wrenches to us at CCS  . For those of us that are in need of one, they will be well cared for and hopefully well used. I'll look forward to seeing more of you on the forum in the future. Have a great evening!

    Greetings, All,

Well, as you can see, Joe is offering us all of the wrenches that he made! That's very nice, Joe, and much appreciated. Also, the stainless versions are less in number than the carbon steel ones, so we will have to make sure that everyone who wants one, gets one. So far, I've heard from a good many of those who wanted in on this project, but not everyone. If your name is on the list above, please contact me, via PT, so we can finalize who gets what, and get payment and shipping information straight. Joe has now send me all the wrenches, and I should have them soon. Once that happens, I'll begin to contact each person on the list to let them know how much to send, and where, then pack and ship the wrenches as soon as I receive payment. Usually, I would just ship them without waiting for payment, but as this is not my money, nor my parts, I want to make sure that Joe gets paid for his efforts, so I hope you will understand why payment must clear before shipping. Thanks, again, for supporting this project, and I'll be talking to you soon. Again, if you have not contacted me through a PT, please do so as soon as you can. Take care, and God Bless!

    Greetings, All,

First of all, let me tell you how much I truly miss being able to hang out regularly here with everyone at CCS!! This year has been our very best so far, in regards to our small business, and we consider ourselves very blessed and fortunate, indeed! But, that has left almost no time for being able to have fun here, unfortunately, as work has been very demanding, and we've both been running around like one-armed paper hangers, trying to keep up with our business needs!!

That having been said, I wanted to tell you all that all of Joe's wonderful Enders repro wrenches have arrived, safe and sound, here in our mountain home, and they look outstanding! I'll have time to begin setting up individual orders, check shipping prices, and then contacting everyone who has committed to this project to let them know their final costs. Once payment is received, I will ship those orders right away.

Many thanks, once again, to Joe, for undertaking this interesting project, and for his skills in being able to turn out such great repro wrenches!! Talk to you all soon, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc
