You've got to pour it with the spout to the top into a funnel. Or, as linux_author said... coleman fuel filler
Fire is Cool.... if you had that much trouble.... you are "doing it wrong" ! (sorry, but it's true) Every gallon can of Coleman fuel instructs on the "correct" way to pour from the one gallon cans. The spout on the can must be at the top when pouring. Of course you must be careful. A few drops is about all that should be lost to spillage unless you are being careless. Hope it goes better!
belay my last - just tried the Coleman filler on my can of Crown denatured and it's too small - so it may not fit on an SLX can either... looks like a cheap funnel is the way to go (Goodwill, Dollar Store, Salvation Army, flea market, or Mom's kitchen cabinet [just don't let her know])
