I know its common practice to decrease the choofing on a stove by stuffing the fuel line with something like wire mesh or cotton mop strands and such like.

I have a two burner stove with Radius burners and it choofs a lot. I have put some wire mesh into the base of the burners and it helps but more can be done.

So, I am wondering if putting a check valve onto the fuel line as close to the burners as I can will help. Has anyone tried this or seen it be done? Swing gate or spring valve?

Granted, my fuel line is 1/4inch OD copper pipe and the smallest check valves I have been able to find for brass compression fittings have been for 1/2inch OD piping. So, right now it doesnt look like I will be able to use one unless I get crazy and use some adapters...

    Any thoughts?

    Regards,
    HF

    Hi HF,

I don't have any views about whether a check valve would assist of not.

However, in terms of sourcing the valves have you tried model engineering suppliers (i.e. model steam engines etc) rather than normal plumbing supplies?

    Cheers, Graham.

No I havent. Thanks for the suggestion.

If the threading is right to mate the pieces together, thats all that matters.

if it isn't just solder them. Eeeeh you'll need Sil-braze solder. I've a source if you need some.
