As the title says this is a bit cheeky so please feel free to tell me where to go. But here goes. I scored a Burmos 21 yesterday at a car boot for £5.00. It has polished up well and fires up nicely. Needs a filler cap seal, and reserve cap seal. I have looked on here and have improvised with a bit of milk bottle plastic. Here is the ask. The nrv is dodgy as when under pressure some parafin leaks into the pump tube. I have looked and getting an NRV tool plus the bits that I need would cost way more than the stove. Would anyone out there in the UK be prepared to post me an NRV tool for a shot term load so that I can sort this out. I would refund the postage to the sender and get it back as soon as possible. I am sure with this I can fettle this little stove, but do not have the tools or know how to sort it without the NRV tool. Please feel free to delete this if I am out of order. Gary
Before you go this way - with unsure outcome - how about 'rinsing' the NRV with some loads of paraffin? Just remove the pumprod cum piston, fill the tube, then press that load through the NRV. Repeat at will., then check again if that NRV still leaks. If so, you can remove that NRV with a self made tool; just check the plentifull of articles here on this site. Good luck! Mike
Fuel cap seals are the easiest, automotive O rings intended for brake or fuel system use are cheap, easy and effective until you can score a sheet of nitrile rubber from somewhere. Your local auto parts place will have an assorted size grab-bag of them for a few quid. While you are there also get a nice thick bolt a bit longer than the pump tube and as near to a neat slip fit as you can manage to make an NRV tool from. If the bolt is not a dead fit, a turn or two of tape will pack it out.
Hi I know i'm biased, but if you have to buy a tool it will last you a lifetime & fettle many many stove's & blowlamps . If you round off the NRV head you'll have to de-solder the pump tube & while your doing this you'll be thinking , "i could be out using my stove right now on this lovely sunny day. Take a look at others or my post's on NRV tool's & see what you think, you'll definately see the benifit very quickly Don't forget "good advice is freely given " Best regards Stu .
