Hi, My classic Lightweight back packing gear. Total weight with a full can of meths and an Primus 96 full of fuel =1.2 kg All the gear is 50-60's even the Twinco mug I no longer have light weight gear to compare this weight to,has any one got a similar set up made of modern materials? I don’t mean ultra light stuff,stoves like the new multi fuel stoves and pot sets. As my interest in stoves grow so does my interest in old camping gear. I have been looking through my KTG books and nothing changed really between the 1950'sup to the late 70’s from what i can make out. Here is a packing list in the lightweight camping section which covered, cycle ,canoe boat and pedestrian campers. In the suggestion packing list from the same books for the average person's personal gear it has items such as nylon pyjamas,tea cloth and other bits that you would not think of these days to pack if you were going light weight. Things have moved on a lot
Great collection there Tim... Its almost "Famous five" equipment there, It only needs lashings of ginger beer, humbugs and a treasure map to complete
