My buddy picked up a decent condition 2 Burner Coleman 412B at a yard sale. Wrapped in newspaper from the ealry 60s. Any info on it? How to date it? When those were made? Rarity? Workin on gettin some pics from him so I can put it in the SRG.
Wyatt: The 412 was made in the late thirties. The 412B I am not familiar with, probably made in the 40's? Mike...
Recently saw a 413H and recently acquired a 413E ( nothing special, but free with a gift certificate for "volunteering" at the thrift store here. Amusingly, it has the name "Lance" on it, in yellow marker or grease pencil! ) Our 413G is in storage. Don't remember a 412B! Will go look on the web though! Best, Randy
Hmmm... You and Mike (Flivver) may be the only living souls to have seen a 412 recently... ( although Doc probably has TWO... ) Not finding it on Terrence Marsh's site or the Old Town Coleman... PICS?????? Please ! :-)
Hi Dave, sometimes I have a 425 that I have been working on and cant find a date anywhere.. Best, Rick
TRhe 425B stove was made from 1953 to the late 50's. Most of the time there is not a date stamp on these stoves. Most of the older ones and the newer ones will have. For some reason Coleman did not date a lot of things from this time. Kelly
Thanks for the pics! Nice Stove! I know nothing, but Kellyblues and Flivver and Doc are all great walking stove encyclopedias!
Sorry All: The 412B is too new for me (post WW11),however it looks as memory serves, the same as a pre war 412. It looks to have a cast iron manifold. That would probably date it to the forties but not sure, Mike...
You and me both. I'm not even going to ask him, cause I know nobody having a yard sale is going to ask much for a stove they haven't used since the 60s. Where's the guys who've got the info been? Doc?
Well, according to this link, they were never made, unless the 418B is a misprint, and they really meant 412B... In which case, made in 1940... Or not... Link
Baja: I just looked at the link you posted and it is "very" incomplete. I can't speak for post war but as for pre war about a third of the Coleman's manufactured during those years are missing from that list. So I assume the post war list is just as inaccurate. Mike...
