I just wanted to know, how available are the Coleman dual burner white gas stoves in your country? I'm talking about the 413,425, or similiar. Here in the U.S. they are everywhere.
Coleman is not available at all here. No Coleman fuel, and no Coleman burners. I have sold a few myself, and made some money for my collection I have a 502, 425E, A200, 533 and the 1950 mil one. Normaly Norwegians use Buthane/Propan or keroseene. Almost nobody uses white gas here. Take care Rune
Its just the opposite here. We mostly use white gas or the butane/propane mixes. Of course, most of the country doesn't see extremely cold temps either. I'm lucky if I see a 6 inch snowfall. I can buy coleman 425s and 413s for ~$5 U.S. at yard sales or junk shops. No one wants them anymore, because propane is much easier to deal with. Americans have a habit of buying way too much stuff anyway. A lot of people will buy everything needed for camping for only one trip. Then, its never used again. This is where I get most of my camping/hiking equipment. I'll buy used whenever I can.
Gordon: I live in Lexington, but work throughout the Eastern part of the state. I stop in junk shops everywhere to look for these stoves. I've been to Campbellsville for work. Were you stationed there at some point? I have a couple of friends that got jobs on base as Foresters. They were married.
Harney: My mother's side of the family comes from that neck of the woods. I spent many great summers on my grandparents farm a few miles from Acton (sic) and Mansville. Of course they are all gone as this was several decades ago. Take care. Gordon
My paternal grandmother's family were from West Point and Elizabethtown, and she lived there until she was 16. Never lost her accent, and often regaled us with stories of old Kaintuck....
