I have a stove that runs great, but you cannot adjust the flame intensity at all. I know this model should be able to do this, but all I get is either full on or totally off. I think I need to replace the generator.
Not likely Harney. Are you using the valve wheel or the "generator cleaner needle" to adjust the volume of fuel use. If i remember correctly it is the valve wheel which is used to adjust the flame not the cleaning needle. lance
Hey, Lance, and Harney, Lance, the Feather 442 does not have an adjustment wheel. There is only one lever, for "Off-Low-High/Light". "Off", is fully to the left; "Low", or course, is in the middle of the lever's throw; and "High/Light", if fully to the right. Harney, if you're not getting any adjustment in your stove, you may be right about the generator. I'd give that a try, as you can always use the extra for a spare, if needed. Good luck, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark P.S. It's been snowing again for the last several hours. FUN!
See what happens when i am away from my stoves for any length of time i forgets how they all works. Thanks for correcting me Doc. lance
Funnily enough some friends were talking about their Coleman 'Feathers' yesterday and we agreed that the control should be marked 'Sun' and 'Moon', with nothing in between. That's the main reason I bought my MSR, after years of frustration with my Feather. However, the best stove I have for simmering is my paraffin (silent burner) Opti 111. Cheers GC
